The Royal Bank of Scotland are proposing to close their only branch in the Rutherglen constituency. This will mean people travelling miles to their next branch or having to change banks, which is very difficult for some customers. Access to cash is incredibly important and many people cannot engage with online banking, meaning branches are a lifeline.
Although the Royal Bank of Scotland are set on closing the branch in September, with redundancies possible, I am campaigning against the decision. I’ll present a petition to the Chief Executive of the bank and to Parliament and I would welcome your support.
